So went to visit my father today,

He says all to me in a passing tone "found this in the attic, think it's been up there for over 25 years".

He hands me a mint Ithaca model 72 lever gun in .22lr and on the barrel states it's made in west Germany. Now my good buddy has a Henry H0001 and the dam thing looks pretty near identical but the internals are way different. The quality is titled heavy on the ithaca side, I mean the thing has kind of like a roller bearing on the feed ramp/round guide.

I'm super happy about this thing and would like any words on it if anybody has experience with the thing.

Also, the gun runs like a top as I gave it a good cleaning and put about 30 rounds threw it.

Give me run down on how to post pictures and I'll have some up ASAP. I can't figure out how to do it.

The one i had was a real shooter but not mint and was marked 22lr. They are of very good quality and should last you a long time. Ive seen them posted in the $400 range.
Dont really have any comments on things to watch out for just enjoy it. There are many threads in the photo section on posting.

I thought all .22lr could shoot lr, short, and quite.

Have you tried shorts?

Jams up with longs. Haven't tried shorts. I will have to give it a try.
Still a sweet rifle. Wouldn't give it up

I have an 72 deluxe, scrollwork is blemished but otherwise fine shape....bought it used off the EE for 475 I think, my grandfather had one that was mint and I loved shooting it, but sadly all his guns went to some other ###### of the family to be sold off......I've been looking for a mint condition one for a few years, they don't seem to come up very often

would love to see pics if you figure it out (photobucket is easiest)

enjoy the gun!
