Has anybody here purchased or fired one of these?

My first pistol was a Yavuz 16 / Regard MC or whatever the hell its called. The 4.3" railed M9 clone.

I really liked that gun but I sold it to fund the Hi Power I wanted so badly.
I've debated getting another one, but honestly I didn't like the M9 that much. I mean the Girsan was a fantastic gun, but aesthetically and ergonomically speaking it wasn't the funnest I've shot. Still. I've been thinking of getting a new one (the one I bought originally was used)

This new one, to me, looks as though Girsan took an M9 and stuffed it into a new frame, but kept everything else. The only videos I can see on it are in Turkish, but when the guy is playing with the gun I can see everything down to the firing pin block that pops up when you pull the trigger is there. It looks like it takes down exactly the same and even the trigger looks like the same trigger. Does it take the same mags? Grips? I need the information.

I would love to hear your experiences if you have any?

I handled both black and the bright white at the January gun show here in Calgary. A little heavier than the yavuz 16 compact, decent trigger. According to the dealer it takes S&W 5906 mags.

Cant remember the name but Marstar was selling basically the same gun/design years ago pretty sure it was also Turkish but not called Girsan..

eidt: they were called Tisas

One of the Can ammo guys shared this link, which makes me think they haven't really played with one of them yet.

Still no solid info about magazine type though. Those pictures DO look like S&W 5900 mags.... I wish we had confirmation. Girsan always ships with Mec Gars and they do make 5900 mags. Still want to know for sure before deciding to pull the trigger on this one.

Would love to get confirmation on this as well. Have an armful of 5906 mags waiting to be used (sorry not for sale).

Contacted The shooting edge as well since they carry Girsan. The reply:

Thank you for your email. We have not carried the MC21 from Girsan yet so do not have more information on it. The MC28 that we have in-stock comes with magazines that are made by Girsan. About its compatibility of magazines and grips with that of other manufacturer(s), unfortunately I do not have concrete information that I can confirm or deny.

I looked at all the videos and pictures and lifted some basic comparative dimensions as best I could and would have to say that the Girsan MC 21 mags are identical to the 5900 series mags I have. Interesting to say the least. Looks like Girsan bought the magazine tooling from S&W at some point.

The mags are nade by MecGar made in Italy, the same company that makes the mags for their other pistols. Frankly they look like the same mags I have in my Girsan copy of the Beretta Centurian.

Take Care
