Received one in late summer. Works awesome. Finished nice, operates smoothly. Great for the price point. I got it in tan -looks great.
These any good? Can't find much about them online...
Get a M&P 1st gen, their prices are cooling down to $400 level
They're fine guns and work great.
Otherwise consider the Remington RP-9 ( they almost always have the rebate on ).
There's also guns like the surplus police CZ-75s or the Beretta 92s
I'm pretty much done with mystery meat offshore guns, myself.
The Girsan MC 28 is a clone of the Smith & Wesson M&P. Some say an improved version from the M&P it was based on; newer M&Ps are improved. An 'entry level' gun; yet today's entry level guns, such as this one, are as advanced as what would have been considered an excellent gun twenty years ago. And I know, because I am an expert because I post on the interwebnet!
I ordered one a month ago, still waiting on the transfer. Will let you know when I've had a chance to use it.
Finally got the chance to go out to the range with a friend over the weekend and test out my new MC28. The gun itself performed great...put 150 rounds through it, no issues at all. Slightly less pleased with the sights.
From 25 yards, neither my friend or I were landing any shots on the paper. Tightened up to 15 yards, and we were both hitting the bottom-left of the targets with solid groupings. I tried aiming for the top-right of the targets, and started landing shots in the centre. It seems that the sights are out by quite a bit, which is more than a little disappointing considering they're fixed sights.
I'm going to contact the dealer who sold it to me to see if they can assist with getting the issue repaired under the warranty.
