Girsan MC28? Norinco pistol clones? Which one is more reliable and newbie friendly?

Yes, they do! Too bad no one is bringing in the NZ85; best Nork Pistol ever built. Mine is a forever gun; granted I put some CZ75 rubber overmolded grips on mine as the nork grips were crap, but great trigger, CZ/Jericho comparable mags, accurate. What more can one ask!!!

Same on the NZ85. It's a keeper. I put a Hogue grip on mine and replaced the recoil and main springs (trigger pull and break is much better than stock now) and added a fibre optic front sight. All in for under $500.

Sorry for the zombie thread, but a quick point. If you have any plans to take your handgun into the USA, don't buy a Chinese gun.

ATF form 6NIA can be used to temporarily import a firearm into the USA for target shooting or CCW if you get a NH CCW permit (about 26 states recognize the Non-Resident NH CCW permit)

As another CGN'er said, for $500 you can be into a S&W M&P9 gen one with mags and a holster and probably still have some cash for a box of ammo. The girsan mc28 is meh, the Girsan beretta clones are pretty good, but as others have said, finding parts can be a #####. Norinco's all go bang but after the novelty of a super cheap pistol wears off you will be wanting something better. I'm no S&W fan but if I only had $500 to spend on a blasterr I would be looking for a common, proven blaster with lots of after market support... hence the S&W M&P9

Check the EE. I just did a quick search and there is a Smith M&P 9mm M2.0 for 450.00. For 500.00 you can get yourself a higher quality gun used gun. Good luck in your decision and In the meantime stay safe.

Good advice this.

Take Care

My NP29 has been excellent, feeds HP 100%.

Only bad thing is the tiny GI sights.

It's as reliable as my Gen 3 G17 and that is reliable indeed.

one of the surplus police berettas that are drying up quickly would be a great affordable newbie pistol if you aren't set on one of the 2 mentioned pistols
