Girsan Yavuz 16 vs CZ-75B

Hi, I'm able to find a fair number of reviews of the CZ-75B but virtually nothing about the Girsan Yavuz 16.

Anyone have any comments or opinions?
 
I've had my Girsan since March and have gone through 1000's of rounds easily. Love the gun, love the price, slap some hogue grips on and it's a perfect package for the cost conscious.
 
I have 2, both blued, one compact railed, one standard full size. I'd like to get a SS non railed compact in the matte stainless.... Don't like the polished ones. I think they are probably the best clones of any pistol out there....very high quality. Nothing like you see with the Nork SIG clones...10000 times better then that.
 
Regard 16. My first gun. Only about 150 down the pipe so far. I'm learning with it. Liked the feel (and the price) of it way better than the real berettas at the store. I'm told by my friends who are more experienced than I am, that the trigger coudl use some work, but its not bad.
 
Agreed with the trigger. I once got a chance to shoot my girsan and a Beretta side by side. Only difference me and the Beretta owner could tell was my trigger was a tiny bit heavier. Only way we knew is cause we switched after a few rounds and many times. I put a Beretta d spring in it and now its a bit better than the Beretta trigger. My gun just says girsan rather then Beretta and is based off the 92f and not the 92fs
 
The Girsans are very good guns, but there are routinely excellent deals on CZs that are very lightly used (like, well under 5000 rounds). I would say get a used CZ unless you really strongly favour the controls and ergos of the Girsan.
 
CZ makes great guns, no doubt. I have shot and liked them all.

Now, that said, don't let people who don't own one or haven't shot one tell you that you have to get a "real" one and clones are no good. These Girsan pistols are not bad in any way. In some ways they are better than the Italian or US made Berettas. They have a metal trigger and metal guide rods whereas the "real" ones have plastic in those parts. The only thing I didn't like on it was the cheapy plastic grips. They are fine really, just not as nice as they could be.

I put a set of genuine Beretta wood grips on mine and a model D hammer spring it it. That's it. It has NEVER, not once done ANYTHING untowards. No. Thing. and its smooth, accurate and great to shoot. I have tried to make it fail by loading all 3 common bullet weights, in both factory and reloads in one mag(well 4 mags actually) and blazed away with them. no problems. I have tried to limp wrist it to extremes, but still nothing. And its cheap. they can be had for $469 new for a full size pistol with two mags.
 
I just bought a Yavuz, went for the full size in polished stainless steel (a PITA so far to clean) and it was $650, $220 cheaper than the Beretta before tax. I was told that Girsan has all of the contracts, tooling, schematics, and trained smiths from Beretta, so these are basically contracted clones. The parts are totally interchangeable except for the slide, where the Girsan won't fit on the Beretta but the Beretta will fit on the Girsan. Like JR Hartman said, metal guide rod, metal trigger, and $600 was an obvious deal to me! Spend your money on ammo instead :D *pew pew*

Any idea why the girsan slide doesn't fit the Beretta frame? I just bought one and I'm wondering.

thanks. I wasn't sure what was meant. I knew the difference in terms of the relief in the FS slide and the stopper in the frame. I thought between f models of beretta and girsan there wasn't interchangeability.
