Hey Can Am,

Any eta on when you're getting a new shipment of these guys in the full size model?

Also do you know if you're going to have a railed offering?

if Canada ammo checks this again.
is it possible to get the girsan 1911 if the finishing is anything like the compact I have I think it be a good little gun.

So should we assume that there has been a delay in receiving these. The expected delivery was 3 weeks ago.

I'd like to purchase it from Canam but lack of details makes holding out tough. Some sort of word either way would be nice.

Has the importer given a revised date? Are you able to contact them and inquire?

I don't mind waiting for the gun I want and I understand that importing these isn't the quickest or easiest process. That said, poking your importer for more info would be nice. Even if it comes back as "they're held up by Turkish customs, could be another 4-6 weeks" that's fine, it'll still keep me waiting and planning to buy this from you guys instead of buying something else somewhere else.

Just picked up the stainless compact version (still looks pretty full sized) locally -- I couldn't wait for shipping and got a good price.
Very nice finish and construction. Very simple to disassemble without tools when you need to clean it.
I'm going to the range tomorrow and will report further. This will be my first 9mm gun!

Back from the range and I found a curious thing, I aim at the centre of the target and all the rounds are going really low. I had to practically aim above the target with the sights to get it in the centre.

Anyone know if these sights are adjustable? I may need to replace the factory sights if not.

Dumb question on my part, but what distance were you shooting from? I haven't done much adjusting of pistol sights but I know scopes adjusted for X yards will shoot high/low at other ranges. My question might be irrelevant but I thought I'd ask anyways

I was just testing the gun at about 10 metres. I don't think that should be enough distance for the bullet to drop appreciably. I did try at 15 metres too and the same thing.

You say that it is your first 9mm... first handgun or just first 9mm?

This picture helped me learn how your sight picture should look and results of misaligned sight pictures

This sight has three dots (2 in front, 1 in rear). I line them up horizontally and if I held the correct sight picture, the rounds go about 6 - 8 inches too low and mostly miss the target entirely.

I have fired a .22 1911 and have had no problems like this.

9mmGunGuy, on my post, I had the same thing. My Girsan Yavuz 16 is factory blued finish. I had the same thing happening with my shooting. If you look up my post from a month or so ago, one of the CGN'ers posted a note about shooting the Beretta. Do not hold at 6 o'clock like you would a typical sight picture for pistol. Apparently, the Beretta 92 and the Girsan, you have to line up the 3 dots as normal, however you have to place the centre dot over the bullseye of the target. I have yet to try this, but I am sure it will go a long way toward bringing up your group.
