Girsan

I had a fullsize and it was pretty awesome.
Sights needed adjusting so get ready for that.
Could have used the "D" spring that everyone raves about. I want another one.

I have a compact. Love it. Changed the spring to a "D" spring, and am thinking of putting in a 14# to test.

Shoots low, so possible that I will have to put adjustable rear sights on it or file down the front one a tad. But, has been reliable and feels just like my Berettas. I like the molded finger grooves (they fit my hand well) and the fact the guide rod comes from the factory as a steel one. Mags are completely interchangeable between the Berettas and the Girsan.

Thanks. Anyone here has experience with the yavuz compact they're willing to share?

500+ rounds, not one failure, was going to sell it because the grip is a little wide for my daughter but shes used to it now, when i first bought the compact model i thought it would be like the Beretta compact, but i believe the Girsan compact just has a shorter barrel, the frame and grip are same as the full size. Im sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong.

My first pistol was a Compact 16 with a rail. Solid all steel gun, decocker, all that jazz. I never had the D spring, but if I had kept the gun I would have installed it. Only sold it because it was an impulse buy on the way to a gun I really wanted... problem is, I liked it and plan to buy a new one to replace the one I sold (bought it used). Never one single malfunction in around 400 rounds. The D spring and a low profile safety are the 2 upgrades I would suggest, I'm not a fan of the Beretta style safety, but that's just preference.

There is also a pretty long thread discussing this topic in here somewhere. I did a quick search but couldn't find it.

EDIT: AFAIK All the yavuz models are admissible in Production class IPSC.

great pistol. looks nice, has excellent, smooth action. never one failure at all in this thing and I tried to see if I could make it fail by putting several different types of ammo in the mag.

put in the D spring and Beretta wood grips on it and its a hell of a nice pistol, especially for the low cost.

metal guide rod and trigger, as opposed to polymer in the Beretta.

And mine has finger grooves on the forward part of the grip that really works well with my hands.
