Got my new pistol.
Girsan Yavuz 16 regard

Thing is beautiful and I have no idea why anyone would buy a Beretta 92fs over this pistol!!!
Save ur self 500 bills and grab one of these.

I have one as well, havent used it much but agree its a very nice pistol. The only thing i wonder about is parts support since its a 92 vs a 92FS. Dont think i will be doing a lot of dry fire drills with mine!

I understood these take 92fs parts, some fellows have replaced parts with beretta components ( don't remember off hand). The only issuse I have had is after market non girsan or beretta mags have issues with the follower not staying under the slide catch. Thats promag and the mags made for tauris. Bullseye has "girsan" mags in stock.... Nice mags.

The pro mag brand magazines, flip the follower spring around and it stops that.

As i understand it Mec-gar are the ones to get for sure. I ordered some spares in London.
Good to know there is a fix for the pro-mags though as ive heard of some function issues.

I'm a bit confused by this whole "Girsan is a 92F without the slide safetly lug, as opposed to a 92FS with the slide safety lug.

I just bought a set of Hogue grips (Baretta) for my Girsan Yavuz Compact. Up to this point I hadn't had the grips off and assumed that it would be missing the enlarged end of the hammer pin or the "Slide Safety Lug". The grips came with a shim, for "For early model Baretta 92F frames without safety lug, it is recommended to install the semi-circular shim into the left grip panel as shown. For Late models with slide safety lug discard shim" I couldn't use the shim and the, "safety lug" or the end of the pin holding in the hammer fit perfectly into the grip. It's roughly the size of a dime. Any thoughts on this?

BTW, OP I love mine, but admittedly I haven't had the pleasure of shooting a real Beretta for comparison. I have 1200 rounds downrange with no issues.
