I've been thinning down the herd and almost posted my Norinco NP34 for sale, thinking I have better guns so why keep it. Well I took it out to the range today to sorta say goodbye and low and behold the sucker out shoots my Glock and CZ I also brought with me. I've shot it once before and remember it did OK but wow... nice shooting gun! So instead of selling it now I have Sig grips for it on the way :)

That's cool gotta love when a cheapy preforms. Do you think it is lucky with that gun or do you think others would preform as good? I have been thinking I need a sig, and maybe a copy would save a few hundred dollars.

The others did well too, but NP34 shot a little better (for me). I'm sure it wasn't a one time thing but it probably liked that load.

I've had a number of Sigs before, they are fine guns and have a lot nicer finish but there's nothing wrong with Norinco copies. Great value for the money. I like the size of the NP34 over a 226. It just depends what your budget is and what you're looking for.

Hey Lugger I have never seen a 226 and a 229 side by side, are they like the g19 and g17 difference?

Is the np22 a copy 226? and a np34 a copy 229? sorry I need to get some Sig knowledge.

NP22 is a copy of P226 and NP34 is a copy of P228 (not 229.)

I would say yes P226 : P228 = G17 : G19. P229 is a little beefier than P228 IIRC. If you want I can take a pic of my G23(G19 size) next to NP34.

Ps: just noticed that the title said "Glock I kept my NP34", meant to say Glad.

Nice I am "glock" you sent the pic, it is a great comparison. I like the size of the 228, don't suppose you would have a pic of a 226 and 228.

I didn't like the shorter grip of the g19, looks like the np34/228, is a little longer than the g23 in the grip length.

Norinco's aren't stupid.

They always preform their best, when they know they're on the chopping block

But seriously, I always take a handgun out for one final shoot before I sell it.

It never fails to shoot it's best, this time out.

I think it's a physiological thing, and I haven't been able to sell very many.

No sold my P226s. Had 3 over the years, black, two tone and all stainless...

NP34/228's grip is a little longer than G19/23's but there isnt that much of a difference. The big differece is in bore axis between the two guns.

AAAHHHH I see I measured the sight to bottom of the grip, I see in your picture the difference hieght of bore over the grip. Would that lead to more recoil?

My Glock is a .40 and Norinco is a 9mm, so not a fair comparasin. Higher bore axis usually means more muzzle flip. I dont find it to be a problem on this gun, but I prefer to have my grip as high on the gun as I can. Which is why Sigs and HKs never been my favourite.

Thanks for your help, sorry for hi-jacking your thread. I googled bore axis wow "can of worms", but I hear you on the high grip. I also like to be right up there, preloading the web of hand so the skin doesn't roll down.

I have the same problem. I never wan't to say good bye. Thats what master card is for LOl

How are the rear sights positioned? I had a Np22 which had the rear sight off center to one side, drove me mad. Many people reported the same thing with the recent batch of Np-22s. How are the newest NP34s? Are the rear sights nice and centered?
