Hello,

I have an LRB Arms M25 rear lugged M1a rifle. I want to have it glass bedded into a McMillan stock. Does anyone know who can do it?

Thank you:cheers:

You,:D

Everyone else will chime in now.:D

P.S. Please, just call it an M25, Calling an LRB an M1a is kind of an insult. lol

Is the lug threaded for an action screw? If you have any mechanical abilities just start researching over at the other M14 website and do it yourself. That way you get to know your rifle when funny things start to happen. Don't trust anyone with your rifle...too many hacks out there

The rear lug is threaded. If you want to do it yourself I suggest getting Art Luppino's dvd on glass bedding from Brownells and do it yourself. Fantastic dvd.

Devcon steel putty epoxy can be purchased from Acklands for bedding and new McMillan stocks come already machined perfectly for bedding.

As Oldsmobiler said, if your going to send it out make sure they've done lots of them before. There are a few guys around who can do it depnding on where you live.

Do not send it to a non-M14 gunsmith.

If you live near Hungry, central Canada, or M14 Doc, western Canada, maybe one of them can help you out.

I looked on Brownell's but can"t find said dvd... Any thoughts on where else might stock it?

The conventional wisdom for inspecting the bedding on wood-stocked Garands and M14s, is contact under the rear bridge and then up around the receiver ring. The centre is free and in the air. I believe that would be a function of the stock flexing and then settling back after recoil. If the M14 rear lug has enough rigid stock around it, I can't see why it would be any different.

Well I guess I didn't get it at Brownells. On the back of the case it says ww w.gunvideo.com so that's where I got it. Excellant dvd

See link below with space. No hot links allowed.

I have seen adds for the mentioned dvd. I will buy it. Has anyone heard of this gunsmith? He claims to be able to properly bed an M14.

M14Doctor has done nurmerous work on M25 platforms and I can easly say that he has bedded more M14 style rifles than I can count. He has his own fourms on here but I would just email him @
m14doctor@hotmail.com
He is putting on a M14 & hunting clinic right now up in a 100 mile house so I am preatty sure he will be off line tell next week some time were he will chime in. ;)

M14 Doc built my M25 and did an amazing job.:D

Is this the M14 doctor?

I need to see some work that the M14 Doctor has done, some kind of credentials to verify before I send my M25 anywhere. Does he have a phone number or website? Someway of talking to him not through email?

I agree, I had a number of dealings with Tom and I knew his work from when he built a Norc shorty for me. In discussing my m25 project with him I was quite comfortable. I totally understand, if there's someone nearby for you hand your baby over to and your comfortable with them go for it. (Insurance and shipping would be cheaper too at 100.00 each way). For me I'm very happy with the work he's done for me. Like a lot of guys providing a service on the board they don't hand out their phone numbers over the internet but if you email him he'll call you.

That said I still think you should bed it yourself.

Be careful of the many gunputzer opinion responses.
Don't do it yourself - without experience its a nightmare.

There are only 3 or 4 people in Kanada that I trust with the experience to do it properly.

Use one of them.
