I have a M-700 BDL wood stock in 300RUM and am thinking about getting it glass bedded. What should a job like this run me and is this a good option for a guy who doesn't have the coin for a top end aftermarket stock with a bedding block in it.

cost you about $30 for a bedding kit and a couple of hours of your time. the kits come with instructions and there is a lot of info on the site to supplement it. don't forget to remove the two little fingers at the forearm that touch the barrel, you definitely want to float the barrel, and seal up anywhere you remove wood to keep the stock stable. once you do one you will be doing all your rifles..it definetly helps.

Or, if your not up to doing it yourself there are many gunsmiths around (some on this board) that can do a fantastic job with good turn around time for less than $100.

With a wood stock that I wouldn't want to screw up I might be inclined to go with a gunsmith. Depends on what your comfortable with I suppose.
