If only..... Well 303 is fricken expensive now. So maybe it's for the best of my wallet lol inflation adjusted price is?

Fixed it.

I've never heard of one blowing up either, but have heard stories of functionning problems and headspace issues.
 
If a guy has money, one would make an interesting conversation piece.

I wouldn't bite for more than $250 or so.

I have also heard of them having headspace issues, as well as gas pressure issues affecting reliability.
 
pretty homely looking. I know a guy who goes to my range has one and it aparently works well but I've never tried or owned one.. The just look like someone peiced them together like a filthy mcgyver
 
My friend got one of those for his first gun. Was pretty cool at 16-17 years old to get a semiauto, especially when I only had a bolt .303 and lever .30-30 but thinking back it was an unreliable, jam-o-matic piece of ####. He sold it for $150 and put the money towards a brand new remington 7400 in .270. He hasn’t regretted it at all.
 
I picked one up years ago, sans mag. Took almost 2 years to find one, then found out about the headspace problems. Interesting rifle, but not worth the aggravation.

Of course, and I have heard that they were fitted up with original 303 barrels.

Do you know if that is true, or not? Have never seen one close enough to look for markings.

Not sure exactly, but a cousin worked in Ottawa for Globe doing these conversions...I will ask him as soon as I get a chance... From what he said, most of these ended up going north of 60..

I do know about the head space issues though...My uncle got powder burns on his face shooting one...I know of another that is basically a strait pull bolt because it won't cycle.. The ones I know of that do work are about as accurate as an SKS.. Another thing is, not many smiths will work on one.. They tell you to scrap them...
 
I have seen one with the rear of the receiver broken off. Not sure on the circumstances the resulted in that though.

Owned a few over the years but sold them all. They were fun to shoot but just not my cup of tea so to speak.
 
very inconsistent QC-functioning-extraction-these were Globco butcher jobs-basically reamed chambers with no consideration for gas curve etc..if you can test fire it for 50 rounds and it comes out well -@$350 would be fair..
