Globe Firearms ? Pics on Page 5 ,Thanks Guys !!!

I've got what I know is a converted Enfeild but don't know what mag I need as it doesn't have one.Barrel is stamped Globe Firearms Model 333 in 303 cal.
Can anyone tell me what model of Enfeild mag I need for it without pics ?

It will use a No4 Mk1 Magazine or a No1 Mk 3 Magazine.

Both fit in mine, but they may have been modified to fit.

To tell the difference between which they should use, I look at the bolts to determine which model of 303 British rifle it is.

The Globe Firearms GLOBCO 555 was a semi-auto, gas-operated rifle made from Finn-captured Tokarev SVT-40 rifles. It used a cut-down SVT magazine, altered slightly to accommodate the .303" round.

OTHER Globe rifles I really don't know about, except that they butchered just about everything and, when they built their new building, they used MARTINIS for rebar, just to keep them off the market!!!

They did .30-30 conversions from 1889 Schmitt-Rubins, .308 conversions from 1911 Schmitt-Rubins, just about any horrible sacrilege you can think of.

I try to be very helpful to other folks on this forum because I am getting on in years and the ticker has troubles. I am afraid that if I really do something uglynasty, that, if I die in my sleep, God might send me for a few thousand years to expiate my sins by working for GLOBE!!!!!

ONE thing they did NOT do was alter the actual BOLT-HEADS of the rifles they worked over. If your bolt-head rides IN a trackway on the right side of the action, then you will need a Magazine for a Number 4. If your Bolt-head OVERHANGS the right-hand rail and rides ON the OUTSIDE of the action, the BOLT-HEAD being its OWN trackway, then you will want a Magazine for a Rifle Number 1, which is also called the SMLE Mark III and likely the source of the Globe designation.

@cyclone: OP's rifle is a BOLT (converted LE) so no troubles there. 555 was a SEMI and took the SVT mag (chopped and modded).

Globe made so many different things that we are now trying to sort them all out. Problem is nomenclature, basically: is a rifle a .303, an SMLE, a Number 4, Number 1, Number 3, Martini-Enfield, Martini-Metford or a Tokarev. In this case it is marked GLOBE 333 and we are trying to figure which OTHER designation it fits. Oh, and the poor, neglected OP is trying to find a Magazine; I do hope he posts back and lets us know what he needs! Once we have his problem sorted out, perhaps we should convert this into a thread for all things Globe, get a few more sorted. They had a 333 and a 555 which were both .303s..... so what ELSE did they put their own name onto?????

Gawd, I woulda give ANYTHING to be the guy who hauled their junk away to the dump!

RCMP FRT Disk lists the Globe 333 rifle as a sporterized Lee-Enfield No.4 MKI or No.4 MKI* rifle.

Here is my Globe 555, once an SVT 40 sniper rifle. The only redeeming thing is it is the only 303 SLR out there.

Mixed reviews on those rifles. I've heard repeatedly that the headspace is way off on some.

The gas system might also be set to too strong a setting, thus working the action too violently.

I'd love to play with one and try to get it to work right. But I wouldn't pay big bucks for one as they really are nothing more than a curiousity.

They transferred a .303 SMLE barrel into the SVT action...how good was the work??

You have to roll the dice, some will work fairly well and others are totally impossible to make them work properly. Garage Gunsmith specials !

Folks shouldn't be too rough on Globe, AKA Globeco. I visited their store a number of times and they were an excellent source for Lee Enfield components and accessories and other misc goodies. They were located in Vanier, ON (east side of Ottawa) and did a good business supplying DCRA shooters from the early 1950s. They closed in the late 1980s. I'm sure that many of their No4s and parts thereof are still soldiering on.
