Glock 17/22 frame

Is a G17 and G22 frame exactly the same, and same internal parts?
If I get a complete G22 upper will it fit and function properly on a G17 lower?
I think they are the same but not sure, anyone know for a fact?

Short answer is yes and no.

Early G17's were different (the locking block was 2 pins and designed to handle the 9x19 only).

However, I'm pretty sure all 3rd Gen G17/G22's(G31's) share the exact same locking block design (3 pins) minus 3 parts.

If you want to swap slides and have 100% reliability you will need to get:
-new trigger mechanism housing
-New magazine(s)

IIRC, you can only go down, not up. The OD of the 22 barrel is larger than the 17. You can get "conversion barrels" to go from 40 to 9mm, but not vice versa.

The frames are the same, but some of the internals are different (the ejector-block for example; 9mm ejectors are curved in slightly, but 40 ejectors are straight, to reduce the possibility of an ejector-fire when ejecting a live round).
