Glock 17 3.5lbs connectors

Excuse my ignorance, as I am relatively new to the Glock, but could someone tell me what a 25 cent trigger job is?

Its polishing key parts of your trigger assembly and Striker. Just google it and you will find posts on how it is done. Most people replace there connectors while doing the polish job. Might as well the gun is apart. Its no longer a 25 cent trigger job if you go that way. Apparently is does not lighten up the trigger pull ,but gets that grit feeling out of the trigger that some Glocks have. I had four Glocks. Triggers worked fine. However I am curious on try it.

Is the NY1 trigger spring normally used with the 5 pound connector, or the 8 pound connector?

You can use it with either but i wouoldn't use it with the 8lb...the pull is very long and heavy. The factory connector and NY1 spring makes the pull much like a revolver. My favorite setup is still the factory trigger with polish work (I use this for IPSC Production). For USPSA Production I tune my trigger all the way down to 2lbs :)
