Glock 17, and Glock 19X

I have a few questions about the 17, and 19X.

From my understanding, the 19X is a 17 frame, but a 19 slide.

I have the chance to get either a 17, or 19x.

If i were to go with the 19X, could I put a 17 slide on it, effectively making at Glock 17? Or would there be compatibility issues? Or vise versa. Could i put a 19 slide on a stock 17 frame?

Sorry if these are silly questions. I'm not all that familiar with Glocks.

The Glock 19x is NOT at 19 Slide on a 17 frame, rather it is a 19 size slide on a frame with 19 length dustcover and rails and a 17 size grip. If you werento put a 17 slide on a 19x you would have a few mm gap between the front of the slide and the dust cover , but it would most likely work with no issues. If you were to put a 19 slide on a 17 frame you would have the dust cover protruding a few mm forward of the front of the slide.

doable with g17 gen 5 ... as it is using the same barrel desgin gen 3 or 4 wont work ...

The G17 has a full size barrel, the G19X has a barrel just over 105mm. I like the longer barrel…

Get the 19x. I had a gen4 17 and for some reason I shoot the 19x a lot better and the pistol just feels and recoils better then the 17

agreed, i have 17, 19 and 19X and I prefer the 19X over the other 2.

the gun that no one asked for yet everyone loves.
