Just got a new gen 4 G19! Awesome! Naturally, the first thing I do is pull out my gen 3 G17 to do a little side by side comparison.

Being the curious mother ####er that I am, I decide to try my G17 barrel in the G19 (only because the G19 came with the chrome Lonewolf barrel, not a black one). Now, I've got a G19 with a G17 barrel in it that will not go into battery (stops about .5cm short), and I can't remove the slide (stops about .5cm after the end of the frame). The pistol will lock back.

Any ideas? I am unsure as to why the pistol will not function with the other barrel, but really I just want to get it out.

thanks for the heads up ...
SO now that you have tried it, can you see what the difference is .
are they different barrels, or is it the frame or locking block .
that are different

question to anyone, my buddy says g19 is prohib, iasusme that is wrong as long as I have a 4,25 barrel? also anyoneknow if barrel is 4,25 and threaded is that ok? thread counts for the length as it is part of barrel?

Length of the rifled part of the bbl with the chamber.

You a GTG with a 106mm bbl

You are both right (kinda-ish)

it would have a custome third party barrel in it, so am I correct that no general prohib on the g19, as long as barrel is compliant i am good to go?

Barrel length determines classification. All restricted glock compacts and subcompacts have aftermarket 4.25" barrels.
