Glock 17 Extended magazine release

Hello all !

Anyone knows how to change the magazine relase on a Glock 17 ? Looking forward to buy one on Ebay. Do I need the GLock special tool ? Can I even do it myself or do I have to take it at the shop ?

Its easily done yourself.... I thought I had a link for a "how to" on the web but cant find it.. I think it may be on one of the Glock seller sites but I am sure if u do a little research you will find it.

The biggest PIA is snagging the spring to bring it forward (thus releasing the release/button)... I've since made a tool that will do it (extended needle nose plyers with a grove filed in one of the tips).
 
Be sure to purchase the right one depending on whether your frame has 2 pins or 3 pins. It is a relatively simple procedure with some instructions and guts to dismantle the pistol to that point for the first time but it is worth it. bye the way when your are in there with it apart polish up the trigger bar, firing pin block as well as the tip of the striker that touches the trigger mech and you will get a slightly better trigger feel. good luck
