Well Iv run out of projects for now so I'm thinking about going back at a Glock 17 gen 2 frame I picked up a while back, Obviously OEM gen 2 parts are hard to find but can some one give me a solid answer of what gen if any can cross in to a Gen 2 17 ?

I've searched the forums and even tried to find answers online with very spotty answers maybe someone on here is a Glock aficionado and could point me in the right path

Thanks
JFK

Most third generation parts will drop right on (and in). An obvious exception, I think, would be the locking block.

Whatever assembly of parts you end up with should be carefully evaluated for safety.

Is it a 2 pin or 3 pin model? Do you have one pin for the trigger and one pin for the trigger housing or do you also have a locking block pin?

A number of changes came out mid-stream for the Gen 2, such as the rear-angled ejection port, and the so-called "6-part upgrade" of the trigger, firing pin, and extractor parts. You will have to be careful at each step to make sure any old parts you pick up are compatible.

In a Gen 2 frame, all parts are interchangeable with Gen 3 if it is a three pin gun.

If it is a two pin gun, only the slide stop is different, and is unique to a two pin frame.
And, of course, in a two pin gun the top reinforcement pin that goes through the locking block isn't needed.

This is assuming you have a locking block in it already.
If you also need a locking block, there are, I recall, three possible blocks depending on the age of your frame.
