Glock 17 Gen 4 that's Made In Austria?

I was told the slides were made in Austria as the US did not permit the treatment that they used (tennifer). From what I understand the US production slides have a similar but different chemical compound.

But who knows, I didn't receive that info from any experts so it may be entirely flawed.

This is the same info I have read. I have 4 Glocks and no USA made ones, so I'm not sure if there is a difference between them.

The Austrian ones come with a healthy dose of Apfelstrudel!

I was able to trade in the Apfelstudel for an extra mag. Although I appreciate the extra mag, and believe I made the right choice, I've always wondered about that unrealized strudel.
