Hello folks, Im looking for some opinions on the glock 17 Gen 4. I hear lots of good things and some not so good things. Recently I was at a Gun Show in the US and the heard that the Gen 4 was one of the best Glocks made. I also heard of some problems with the new spring assembly which I understand has now been fixed? When I looked at the Gen 2 3 and 4 my favorite was the Glock Gen 4. Before I purchase one I want to get some opinions. Thanks in advance or any advice anyone can provide.

Gen4 models are by far my favourite Glocks. Grip texture/size and mag release button are greatly improved. And G17 is the most popular Glock in Canada. Cant go wrong.

What he said.. Mine is flawless and the most reliable in my arsenal.. Never a failure all stock all AMMO

Mine has been flawless as well.
Maybe not the best ergos available, but pretty good.
Will always go bang, and tons of accessories and support for it.
Hardly ever a wrong choice IMO

They are great. I think the early Gen 4s did have some spring issues, but that is long fixed. I bought a G17 Gen4 brand new in 2010 and it hasn't had any issues. It came with the "02" spring.

I have two Glock 17 Gen 4's, no problems, and I have the original RSA's. I use light IPSC minor PF loads, all work flawlessly, but the 124 Gr seem to be just about perfect.

No issues with mine. Grip ergo is a bit sub par, but a great improvement for previous gens. Adding grip tape was a must for me as I have naturally clammy/oily hands.

What's different about the grip size? I used to have a gen 2.
gen4's grip is a little smaller than previous generations; that's why it comes with 2 additional backsraps. Gen3 RTF is better than gen3 for sure but slide serrations are backwards to me. They would work much better if the curves were facing the other way.

My gen 4 g17, threw the odd peice of brass at my face for the first 300 rnds... i was pissed, as it had all the new updated parts, (Extractor, ejector, rsa). one day it just stopped doing it and its now my favourite handgun i own by a longshot.
