Here is my latest project.

Started as a like new Glock 17 with OD frame.

Modifications done:

- Trijicon night sights
- extended slide release
- 10-8 extended mag release
- titanium recoil rod
- got rid of finger grooves:puke:, hook on trigger guard, backstrap grooves, higher cut into underside of trigger guard, hollowed out by mag release and frame cut outs for ripping drills.
- stippled entire frame with soldering iron. It only took 5 hours.:D
- added the X200 with remote switch

Let me know what you think.

Looks excellent.

I still havent worked up the courage to do this to any of mine, but admire those who can and have it look this good.

Do you train with gloves at all?

So more info on that switch for the Surefire. The cable looks like it was designed to fit exactly as you placed it?

Good job on getting rid of the finger grooves.

The switch has thin metal inside it to provide rigidness. I just massaged it a bit to fit the contours of the new trigger guard.
I am not really a fan of this type of switch. I would prefer the DG model that is in the link above. The one I have has a switch in the whole rubber cover around the grip. The other one has a small swtich loacted in the middle of the grip. This prevents acidental light discharges when gripping the gun or drawing/holstering.
Otherwise, I am very happy with the setup. I run it in a Bladetech belt holster. I also have a Safariland 6004 for it. Next on the list is the elusive Raven concealment holster. I do have one for just the gun, but I need one for when the light is mounted.

Besides, all the Magpul guys run Raven concealment.:D

Since you are a self-proclaimed "Magpul Kool-Aid Whore," I will pay you the ultimate compliment and say Costa and Haley would be proud of that work!

Very impressive, hoddie. I have a similar setup in my Glock 17 but I haven't built up the testicular fortitude to take a soldering iron to mine yet.

Just curious, what'd you use to take off the finger grooves, et al.?

Unless you happen to have fingers of the exact right dimensions, they're in the way. I would say the finger grooves are the single most-complained about feature of the G17 that I have seen, unless you count glocks being ugly, of course.

I haven't taken mine off because there's always resale to consider...but they are useless at best and in the way at worst. I don't know why Glock keeps putting them there, but then they've always been very, very slow to respond to customer demands.
