Hey guys, so my little brother got a glock 17 about 5 months ago and his b day is coming up so i want to get him a holster for the gun. I was looking at fobus's entry level holsters. What I want to knows is should I get him a belt or paddle hoster. I was thinking belt but i just wanted to know if you can use it with just any belt or do you need a special one ?

For $80 I bought the Serpa / Blackhawk holster with belt attachment and paddle attachment. Very similar to the 5.11

I got one for my G17 and another for my HK USP.

They both have a button that is very easy to use for drawing the pistol.

I recommend this or the 5.11 stuff.

There are dozens and dozens of excellent holsters on the market. Personally, I would never buy another Fobus. One is enough, thank you, for one lifetime.

The paddle was developed specifically for people who have to take their firearm/holster off the belt quickly and frequently.

Does he need a retention system at all? Retention systems are designed for law enforcement and open carry, where a bad guy could remove your firearm from the holster and use it on you.

What's he going to use it for?
