Hey guys i just picked up my first glock and was wondering if any of you know someone who is making kydex holsters? Ive priced a few from some retailers and they want allot of money for what they are.Merry Christmas gunner.

Holsters are an integral part of a pistol system. Don't cheap out on poor quality stuff.
Get a good gun belt, mag holders and a great holster. Buy once, cry once.
SolelyCanadian is probably the best you can get up here.
Raven Concealment, Bravo Concealment, Dark Star Gear and Alien Gear are high quality US made stuff.
The cheapest I would go is Bladetech up here. Don't buy Fobus or Blackhawk Serpas. You may be laughed at at some courses as well as you'll never get your money back on them.

Well, you actually do get what you pay for a lot of times. I use Bladetech (the more expensive molded sheet ones, not the cheapo injection molded ones) and a lot of people here like Solely Canadian. The injection molded Bladetech ones aren't bad but they aren't as good as the molded sheet ones. If you plan on using the holster regularly then spending a bit more is worthwhile. The cheaper ones tend to fall apart and not be as secure as the higher end ones.

Since you are looking for cheap, be aware that a regular belt does not cut it for holster use. Get a proper holster belt and save yourself significant grief.

Solely Canadian is the way to go for a good kydex holster. Canadian custom made holster for 80$ is a good deal.

+1

A proper gun belt goes a long way, and they aren't a thrifty proposition either. While there's something to be said about wanting to reduce your monetary expenses, constantly fighting inferior, low-cost equipment is not something I find worth my time during my leisure activities.

I carry a Glock every day and use a Safariland level II paired with a 1.5" belt and like others have said use a good belt - a regular belt will not suffice as it will cause too much holster movement and will slow down a draw greatly. Since the belt in to a point tighter than you would were you not carrying.

You'd get better answers if you told us how you intend this holster to be used (i.e.: what you want this holster to do well).

I'm a Raven Kool Aid drinker - I've been using them since 2007 and have one for every pistol I own, BUT - I'd go with Solely Canadian without any worries at all. They're as good as a Raven (very, very good), made in Canada, and cost less.

I've used a Safariland lvl2 paddle holster and there is a solely canadian holster under the tree right now. Cant wait to try it

I see that the OP is in Brantford. Select Shooting Supplies in Cambridge has Bladetech holsters for the Glock 17 in stock (according to their website) starting at about $70. That should put you into a "sweet spot" where price, quality and availability can all be achieved.
