How long have Glock 17's been made in the USA
Do they still make them in Austria?
Is there any difference between the 2 types?
Did Wanstalls just get a batch in from Austria?
Any facts would be useful...............Thank you

They've been producing Glocks at the Georgia factory for a while now from what I understand. Apparently there's a difference in the slide finish between the U.S and Austrian made pistols. I think Austria went back to the old matte finish because of new environmental regulations and the U.S is using the newer tenifer finish still. This is just what I've read...not 100% certain.

if it's made in USA the finish on the slide is not tenifer due to it being prohibited in USA. That's about it I think.

i hope the QC will not suffers. we all know the para history, same with the sig pistols....not very exciting. i know FN weren't very happy with the QC on sig guns made in the US. all my plastic guns are austria made .

From what I understand, Glock has been making pistols in the states for the South American market. Some of those made it into North America, for the same price. You can tell by the proof mark stamped on the slide. ( and the made in Austria is not there). Slide finish isn't as good. Glocks are overrated anyway and just plain ugly. I'll take my M&P over a Glock any day.
