GLock 17 Mag Pouches - Single or Double

I've been watching Magpul's Art of the Dynamic Handgun, and am looking to buy my first set of holster/pouches. With regard to magazine pouches, Im not sure what to get - single-mag pouches, or double. The instructors in DH use single ones at staggered positions from 10-11o'clock, 9 oclock, etc. Is this preferable?

In the case of double pouches, what are the advantages, and at what position(s) are they most practical?
