Glock 17 MOS or Glock 17?

I have a 2 Glocks with red/green dot optics on them and some others without. If you have never tired an optic on a pistol before, IMO it would be a good investment to get the MOS version and have the option to add one later. I still enjoy shooting both with optic or just sights

Definitely get the MOS. I shot a bunch with a G17 gen 5 and it is a nice solid pistol. Then I Purchased a MOS version and am quite happy. Shot it with the iron sights mostly but recently put a red dot on it and will make the transition for that pistol. Only criticism I have for the MOS is that it comes with the fugly base glock iron sight sights. Workable but I am not a huge fan.

I am 54 and pistol sights for me are now very blurry unless I hold pistol 5 inch's from eyes. Mounted a Docter Optic I had laying around on my Glock 22 Gen 3. Will try it out on Sunday hopefully my groups will get smaller.

Mounted a Vortex venom on my G17 and my group size decreased by over half. May pick up a Optic ready slide for it.
They are the wave of the future for a reason :)
The Optic Ready division of IDPA has exploded this year and I bet over half the competitors locally are running an optic on their pistol this year

Get the MOS, no real disadvantages.

Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

I shoot a CZ SP01 in PPC, while I like the irons, my eyes are not the best. I found RDS helped me improve my longer distance shots. I don't need to strain my eyes trying to focus on a sight, since I keep both eyes open. I just sent my Shadow out to be milled to basically be a CZ Shadow MOS. Since I wasn't a huge fan of the dovetail mounts, since it sat optics too high.

If I was to get another Glock, I would go with a MOS.

The only disadvantage at the start and it will improve over time. It is slower to acquire the dot speed shooting.
