Thinking my next gun will be either Glock 17, Norinco 1911 or NP22 (226 clone)

I already have a compact 10mm glock, used to have a couple of Sigs and had a Taurus 1911. So neither gun will be something totally new.

I have a couple of 9's already but no .45 or 1911's. at the moment. also wouldn't mind giving sig design another try.

Depends what you want - you can buy the Norinco 1911 and the NP22 for the price of a new G17.

I still have a stigma (or should I say "sigma") about buying chinese ... I already own the real thing, why do I have to buy the chinese clone? In my case I am thinking about the NP34 and the P228

WHY all the hate for gen 4?!?! Every review on the net I've read (over 10 different ones) states the "worry" that 115gr ammo won't have enough power to push back the slide. Every review I've read this never happened. Glock is not DUMB...they are know for going BANG everytime, do you REALLY think a simple thing like this that would have been found out in shooting tests would go unnoticed? To me it seems like either Glock haters or upset Gen 3 buyers who liked having the "newest" Glock just enjoy stirring the pot.

Sig 220

it would be the design and function of a Sig with the .45ACP ammo of the everyone-has-one 1911

unless your Glock has the thinner or thicker frame, i wouldn't bother with the 17 and i'd just get a conversion barrel if you really want to shoot 9mm

There is no 9mm conversion barrel for the Glock 29, and in any case the grip is radically different than on the 17, so shooting it is very different.

Get the 17. Norinco 1911s are fun project guns but the 17 will give you years of reliable performance with minimal maintenance.

At this time I would say the gen 3s are a little more proven than the 4s but I wouldn't hesitate to by a Gen4 myself. I have seen them run hard and work well.

Regardless of what other guns you own, or even like; everyone should have a Glock 17 somewhere in their collection. It is a must have gun. And if you are getting it at a decent discount, even better! Why are you even considering anything else if you can get a Glock for anywhere close to the price of a Norinco? ;)
