For sale by a possible scammer on FirearmsCanada. I need to be sure before I get rid of the post.
It looks like a 3rd generation Glock 19 with a prohib barrel to me.

It certainly does, the only thing that may, and I emphasize "MAY" be the case, is somehow he got a serial number plate taken out of an older legal 12-6 and had it put into a new Gen3 G19, but I would most certainly tell him to some how prove that this is a legitimate gun.

It's a Glock 19. There are several ways to tell:

1. The finger grooves. On the G17 they are all the same size: 3 rows of grip 'dots' in each finger slot. On the G19 the top and bottom slots are shorter with 2 rows of grip 'dots' instead of 3.
2. Those are almost certainly compact magazines.
3. Look at the distance in the slot in the rail to the front of the frame. On a G17 it's 19mm; on a G19 it's only 7mm. The rail on the G17 itself is also noticeably longer than a G19.

Even if one isn't wasn't 100% on #1-2 due to the low-resolution/angle of the photo, #3 is a dead-giveaway.

There is only one Gen III prohib class G19 in Canada (legally) in private hands, and its in my safe, not for sale, ever.

My spidey senses say yet another scammer...... ;)

NAA.

ill admit im new to the world of firearms and to this forum, but in what way is this a scam?

If the seller possess a prohib license, can he not sell it to another person with the same license?

People with 12(6) status can only aquire handguns with barrels under 105mm that were in the country as of February 1995.
This gun is a third generation and could NOT have been here before then.
Today the seller changed the title to G17, which is why I posted this.
He has not answered requests for more pics and the cert number.

While it is impossible for a Gen III to have been here prior to the law change, there are still ways around it, sort of.
