glock 17 or glock 19

It is just shorter, a half inch shorter off the front and a half inch shorter off the bottom, but as the G17 grip continues down, it also continues to swell out toward the back in the `bump`. Part of the rearward movement of the `bump` is not present on the G19 becuase the grip is shorter. In my view, this is where most of the difference in feel between the two pistols comes from.

I`ve owned G17`s. I`ve owned G19`s (and currently have two of them and two 23`s). I really dig the G19. It completely rocks. I have little to nothing bad to say about it. I don`t say that about every gun. Other people will have different opinions, but I`ll keep shooting my G19`s and loving them. I have no real interest in the G17 and haven`t for many years now. The only GLOCKS I am interested in getting are more compacts, or maybe sub-compacts, especially now that the factory threaded barrels are starting to become available.
 
The two most likely future sources for compact and subcompact Glocks and Glock barrels might be Questar and Sporteque.

In addition, Police Ordnance also could do it, if they wanted to; whether they will choose to, or not, is anyone's guess.

Police Ordnance got out of business of selling any new firearms to civilians last year, let alone that they would consider expanding it in new direction.
 
I've had a number of 2nd and 3rd gen 17s, all of which are have been sold off since I tried my first 19. Nothing wrong with the 17, but I just liked the feel and the compactness of the 19, even with the restricted barrel.

The only real downsides to the 19s are that they seem, to me, to be a bit more snappy than the 17s, and are more expensive.
