Glock 17 or Sig P226?

This is a real apples vs oranges thread. They have both been in service for many years and are proven equally great firearms. Just buy and shoot either one. Better yet get one or more of each.

Classic P Series all the way. My Glock 17L rarely sees the range.

If we could carry, I might be able to appreciate the polymer guns for the weight savings they offer, but I would then choose the P320 by virtue of its superior trigger.

I've got both. I prefer the looks and heft/feel of the Sig but with a 3.5# connector and competition spring kit installed on the Glock, it does make for a better trigger for double taps. Sig's trigger pull is typical mil spec, long takeup and heavy in the DA wth a long reset. SRT kit does help with the reset and so does lighter mainspring for the DA.

I'd compromise and get a Sig P320 :nest:

I'm about as big a Sig fanboy as they come, but I'd probably even push you towards a Glock if you are narrowed down to those two. I love my P226, but find I shoot my P320, and when I had one, Glock, better.

I really like the Sig P320, it was a hard call between that and the G22. I had to have a polymer frame striker fired pistol. but in researching Ive found some absolutley great reviews on the Canik, and to be honest, if things didnt work out with the glock I may have went with it

When I was a child I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child, I played with plastic toy pistols as a child;

When I became a man I put away childish things, and I shot real pistols made of steel and aluminum, like a Sig P226.

SIG

Pro's
-Looks nice
-Better trigger pull in SA
-You can change grips for wood or smaller sizes

They're pretty even and the fact that all top SF units use ether or, is pretty good proof of both pistols merits. You can't go wrong with ether, so go to the gun store and pick the one that feels best.

I have both.

Played with the SIG first. Got a Glock after. I will keep both.

IMHO... recoil is mild on both but different...

I've owned 5 SiGs and 3 Norinco clones. I dont anymore. They're well made guns but I was never a fan of the super high bore axis and the're expensive so every time I wanted something new Id sell the Sig to bring in some healthy cash lol.

I prefer my Beretta 92, Gen4 G17 and CZ 75 Stainless. Those are the keepers.

Off topic but how did the Norinco clones compare to a Sig, obviously not nearly as good but I would like to know for reference
.Nowhere close as far as finish and fine details go, but feel the same once you put better grips on and shoot fairly accurate too. Better value for money but a lot more 'meh' too.
