Glock 17 or Smith and Wesson M&P?

I was able to go down to Wholesale Sports in Lethbridge and handle both the G17 and the M&P before I bought. As soon as I picked up the G17 I knew it was not the gun for me. The M&P fit my hand better, but that said it might be the opposite for you. I took a chance on the M&P becuase I could not find a lot of info about it, but I am super happy with it now. Last time I was at Wholesale in Lethbridge they had both so go down and check them out. It all comes down to what you like the best becuase they are both good guns.

Personally I would get the Glock 17. For me a Glock 17 with a 3.5lb connector is an easier pistol to shoot than the M&P.

Before you spend your hard earned money, drive 2 hours north and try both of them back to back at TSE.
Very good advice. I'm not a big fan of any plastic pistols, particularly the Glock and especially the later versions with the finger groves. However while wasting some time in Florida recently I test fired an .40 M&P at a rental range and came away very impressed. Try both. Pick the one you like best. Then enjoy your new pistol.
