Hey Guys!

I was just on a website looking at Glocks and they have a Glock 17 RTF2. Now I can't see pictures on my screen very well because it shows everything darker but the slide seems to be the 4th Gen Slide from the SHOT show but what's the difference in the frame? It said something about frame texture?

RTF=Rough Textured Frame.

I have shot one and I did not like it one bit. Ill stick with my 4th gen:p

I've been reading on Glock Talk and some people say it feels like 80 grit sandpaper in the hands but I want to know when shooting if it feels better or the same as the regular frame.

I held a Gen 4 Glock 22 with the rough texture frame yesterday.

It was different. It basically feels like holding a regular Glock that has grip tape on each side and also on the back of the frame.

The one I held was brand spanking new. I don't know if the little "nubs" that make up the rough texture will wear down slightly over time but they are quite coarse on a new gun. Sandpaper is a close comparison but it's still quite different. They do provide for an immediate grip on the frame.

My main concern would be how abrasive it feels, especially with the nubs all over the rear of the frame where the web between your thumb and index finger is.

I really wouldn't want to pass judgement without firing one.

As far as the new slide serrations go, I'm indifferent toward them. Other than modernising the design, I don't see how they improve things. If anything, I'd say they may be a step backward since they don't extend for the entire height of the slide like previous generations.
