glock 17 vs 19

I was wondering if anyone would know if the the actual size of the grip of the glock 19 is any smaller in Circumference than the model 17? I find the model 17 a little large for my hand and was wondering if the model 19 would work instead. Because the glock Interests me as a future purchase. Thanks all

The advantage with the 19 is in the reduced height, not the circumference. If (aftermarket) grip reduction of a new Glock is not your fancy, and the G19 is too large, best consider something like the S&W M&P9 or the STI GP6. Both are smaller.

While the circumference of the grip is the same,ie G17 mags works in G19. The profile of the grip is slightly different. You don't get as big a "bump" on the lower part of the grip with the G19.

Too large? The g17 and 19 are the same width. The S&W has interchangable palm swells for tiny cute little metal working hands.(although the plastic tool that holds the grips in place is a piece of crap)

The Glock 19, to me, definitely has a better grip feel, but hey, after SHOTmas (the shooters holiday) Glock may be able to field a whole line of guns that don't necessarily feel like a 2x4.
