OK.. Not a real suppressor! But now that I have your attention:

I bought this gun today from a guy who seems to be very nice!
The first three pictures I saw were very cool, and I just told him I would buy it.
So I bought it without thinking.....(It was a great price and I think it looks cool regardless)
After thinking about it a little bit, I was wondering how the barrel was threaded and if it would interfere with the slide at all.
After I called in with my transfer number I called the guy I bought it from to confirm and I asked him to see a couple of more pictures.
It seems he cut the slide quite a bit at the tip of the barrel.
He told me it functions great, and I have no reason to doubt him... But I ask you guys:

In the long run do you think I will have anything to worry about with the slide/barrel??
I have seen the GSG 1911 .22 with a fake suppressor, so as long as the barrel is over the legal limit.. this should be totally legal??
I asked and he confirmed that it is a fake suppressor that is made for an airsoft gun... So I doubt I would be able to shoot with it on...

I am for sure going to buy a lonewolf full upper for the g17, or barrel/slide combo... I just don't know where to buy them.. anyone know where?

Thanks!

Is the back thread adapter for the can removable so it can fit the slide?

If not do not expect a high degree of accuracy or consistency. The barrel "rests" on three points in the slide and frame so it is positioned the same for every shot. And the nose bushing on the slide is one of those.

If the thread adapter isn't removable and sized so that it fits neatly in that massive hole with very little play then your new gun isn't going to shoot worth beans with or without the "can". Sorry to say but I think you just bought a gun from Bubba.

The PROPER way to work with a threaded barrel for a screw on can, fake or otherwise, is to get an extended barrel that has a thread only on the extension.

If I'm right and the gun shoots like poop the the only way to save the day is to get someone to machine up a screw on bushing that fits that cut out on the slide. Or see if the seller will give you your money back.

If that cut in the slide wasn't disclosed in the ad I would be demanding a refund and leaving appropriate feedback. What BC rider said is totally correct. The cost of replacing the slide will be almost or more than a new gun.

The cut in the slide was not disclosed in the ad, but I did talk to him after I bought the gun and he sent me some pics.. and I asked about the slide and why it was cut.. he told me it was cut so the can could fit and I was told the gun would function as it should..
I could ask if he would refund my money, but if he says "NO" then I guess I am f*cked.....

That was nice of you - fer cryin' out loud who cuts the muzzle end of an autopistol slide, I mean, REALLY!!!!!! There's no way any gunsmith would even begin to consider that - what the hell would you even call that???

lmao! I totally agree. Bubba was in the house!

Wow bubba put the dremel down!! Whats the point in ruining a slide just so you can mount a stupid fake suppressor ??!! f:P:f:P:f:P: I really hope the op gets a refund because that pistol will not shoot proper its screwed . This is a epic Bubba fail...

As said previously it would interfere with the barrel positioning and accuracy.

There's a reason why full sized pistols have extended threaded barrels for suppressors. Now you know.

What he said! Why must people ruin perfectly good guns to make them "tacticool"??

Wow, that is an epic Bubba Fail, It will not shoot right without the silenser, and it will probably destroy the can if you shoot with it, not to mention you will have bunch of FTFs because the slide will bind up against the can ...
So this is a big FAIL. Return it and still provide a negative feedback, include the word Bubba in it. Help others to avoid a same situation..

Good luck.

Aside from the fact this is a genuine bubba mod, NO ONE CUTS GLOCKS. From the first day they showed up they've been the bane of moders everywhere. The slide on a Glock has one of the highest/worst hardness factors you can ask for. About the only way you can cut them without making a mess is EDM, and that's an expensive route to go. That was why Caspian and others got into the aftermarket slide business. It was the only way you could ever get a Bomar or other adjustable sight low mounted.

This was a very bad idea. That said it kinda looks clean so if you get stuck with it all hope is not lost. You'd have to find a machinist to make you a cone bushing. With luck it would be reasonably accurate and have a reasonable point of impact.

gl whatever happens.

Could the user name of that person be disclosed? I don't ask to have it fully disclosed due to forum rules. Take out a letter or two, we'll guess.
