Glock 17 ZEV trigger, worth the cost?

i am looking to toss some money at my glock 17 for my IDPA competitions. I currently have a spring kit which lowers the trigger pull weight which made a big difference. Trigger disconnect, trigger bar, and all steel mating surfaces have been polished to a mirror shine.

would something like the ZEV drop in trigger be worth the cost? I am looking for a 3-3.5lb trigger with less pre travel.

any knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

IIRC, $130-$200 for a G17, depending on which one (they have a dozen or so variations). For G20 4th Gen that I looked at , they top out at $260 (all in USD).

But if you want to be able to adjust pull weight, pre and post travel, and have all aluminum parts instead of some plastic ones, I haven't come across a better system

5 of the 6 Glock i own ( my G19 Gen 4 is still waiting for transfert) as been fitted with the 3.5 pounds spring and connector kit ( less than 50.00 ) and all of them have a stellar trigger, the latest i did, my G20 is breaking clean at 3 pounds 2 ounces...

These kit are just awesome, they have given a second life to my Glocks... JP.

OP, I'd really consider starting with just the Glock OEM 3.5lb trigger connector. It will only set you back about $30, and will not change the class you're competing in.

I have the Zev Race connector and Comp spring kit is all my Glocks. I don't have any experience with the complete trigger swap, but the spring and connector upgrade is awesome.

either the ultimate OR drop in ZEV triggers are good, but not that great. there's still some work left into these trigger units. i have 4 ultimate triggers in my comp glocks. just dropping a unit in the gun will get you a 3.5-4lbs trigger weight break. with some more work (i.e polishing and angle reshaping) depending the specific gun you may get a 2.5-2 lbs trigger weight break, but you have to know your business..

for target shooting at the range, ZEV triggers are nice and it does change the feel quite abit. for the shooting sports, there's still some room left for improvement.
