Glock 19 Canadian Edition grip problem

Trying to add the medium size beavertail grip and will just not line up for the pin to be fed through, the holes are suppose to align and insert pin. Simple thing to do but there is a fit or alignment issue. Other gen 4 made in Austria is no problem.

Anyone else having a problem installing any of the grips?
 
I'm assuming it came with 3 or 4 grip inserts. Are you having the same problem with all the grip inserts or just the one? If it's just the one then it's obviously faulty & needs a warranty replacement.
 
Thanks all for the response, I tried all of the above. All the pieces will not fit, the portion where the holes are will just not push forward enough to align and insert the pin. Shame if it is the frame.
 
Don't mean to point out the obvious, but, check all the mating surfaces for the interferance of mold flash(Grinded or sanded parting lines that are inherent to the molding process), to see it has all been removed.

You can also use a heat gun on low with some pressure to help straighten the backstrap out; not that you should have to. You may want to use a punch that fits loosely for a little more leverage to align hole for pin install.

Also don't mean to point out the obvious, but you have clicked the top of the insert into that little recess on the frame at the top of the grip?

Earlier Gen 4's did not have the recess.
 
Thanks guys, yes the top does click with no problem, just cannot push enough to align the holes and start the pin. I did use 600 grit paper and very fine file however still no luck. This is silly as on another gen4 G22 no problem they just align and work unfortunately not interchangeable with the G19.
 
This is normal, so as to ensure a tight wriggle-free fit of the backstraps.

This is what I do:

1) Place towel on desk
2) Insert pin into backstrap on the side facing the desk surface
3) While pushing down on the frame to push in the pin, push down on the beavertail (towards the heel of the frame) which will make the backstrap flex inwards towards the tang, to help the holes line up

The pin should pop in with some effort. To push it all the way through, use the edge of your desk (with a towel draped over the desk edge) to push in the pin the last few mm.

Thanks all, I finally managed to put it together. Tried so many ways don't know what worked, will be interesting when I strip it all down in the future for cleaning and putting it back together.
