Glock 19 dilemma

I have the choice between two Glocks at the moment. One is a Gen 4 19c (compensated), the other a Gen 4 19 (with serrated front slide). The asking price is the same for both. Im kinda torn between the two. The serrated Glock comes with a larger slide release, and new metal sights. Both nice looking pistols. I will be running a Burris Docter 3 on top of slide for optics. Opinions? Is there a big deference in recoil between the two? and hows the fireball, i hear their report is a little louder?

decisions decisions...

Interesting. I've never even heard of a G19C until now.

I can say the G19 Gen3 is a snappy bugger with hot loads. But is still hands down my favorite pistol.

Not much blast out of the regular G19. Not sure how much he comp would add.

Gotta be louder tho.

There is a pretty good blast coming off the Glock C pistols, i would go for the non comped one personally.

Are the pics the exact guns you're getting? If so, how did you manage to get a 12(6) Gen 4?

As for recoil, I have a Gen2 19 which I've shot for 30 years. It's seen 115, 124 and 147gr rounds. The recoil is the same as any other 9mm. The comp gun is cooler and a great conversation piece but it would be more of a pain to clean as well as dirty your Burris.

Both guns look great. Personally, I would take the front serration model but you really can't go wrong either way.

My question is, are you paying a premium for either of these guns over a basic gen 4 19?
Only reason I ask, is because (in my opinion) both features are largely useless and not worth paying extra for.

I love my Gen2 19 and I shoot it more than my Glock 34 Gen4 and my Glock 22. My Gen2 was made in 1995 and still functions very well.

The compensated 19 probably wont even come with a ported barrel as you wont be getting the factory barrel.

I bought the serrated front slide one from IRG and its a very mild gun to shoot, very accurate with the Alpha Wolf Barrel, I also actually like the extended slide release feature it come with as well.

I personally dont care for front slide serrations (on any gun) or compensated barrels on semi autos. Geg gen 4 Glock 19 gets my nod

ive got a G17C and i notice no difference in 'fireballs' or sound comparted to the regular 17.
i also have a G19 but its a Gen3.
really like it, looking forward to getting a Gen 5 in the G19.

as to your choice id say go with the 19C.
why?
because its cheaper to add serrations onto a pistol than it is to add comp cuts to the slide and the barrel.
sounds like you dont have a preference either way so id go with the Comp.
little nicer to shoot a Comp over regular, keeps the muzzle down just a touch more, easier to get back on target fast or for a double tap.

also, the 19C is pretty rare id say, dont see many around.
i know my 17C is the only one ive ever seen at the range.

I've never cared for a ported barrel comp. I like to get all the velocity I can and the barrel ports reduce velocity. If you reload then you'll probably have to bump up your powder charge a bit. Also, could it dirty the internals of the gun more???? I do like the front serations. I find them less awkward to use.

I really doubt that the Glock 19C is going to have a ported barrel like the factory picture shows.
Its going to have an aftermarket barrel to be a Cdn model, more than likely not ported....
