Well I bought myself a new Glock 19 from our friends at Questar and I must say I love it. Fits better in my hand then my old G26 (although that was a sweet pistol) and it just feels better. I took it to the range yesterday for the first time and put 700 rounds through it. Everything mostly went well except that one 9mm round got jammed down the barrel. That was a fault of the ammo and not the gun itself. I could tell the gun was working hard as the lubrication became null and void after about 400 rounds and the slide seemed to be working harder to go back into battery when releasing it after a mag change. A couple of the mags had a failure to feed the last round on a few occasions but I'm breaking the mags in too. I bought a total of 5 mags and two of them don't like to receive that 10th round when charging the mags. I think that was directly related to the problem. They did seem to get a little better the more rounds I went though. While the gun shoots a little to the left for me I can always get the sight moved over a tad to compensate for it. All and all another great Glock and one that I plan on shooting lots. I bet it will make the 1000 round challenge after I break it in a bit more.

You re used to 1911 like me , how do u like the G19? my previous experiences with old generation glocks and sigs werent that great . Might give it another try and get either a G19 or a P226R .

Danny - glad to see you with a G19. I'm a hardcore 1911 guy but I have a soft spot for glocks too. I have G19 and G23.

Btw download your magazines by 1 round straight from Larry Vickers himself.

I really like the Glock. It's my fourth Glock although I only have a G17 and a G19 now. I just appreciate how reliable and easy to clean they are. I think if I was to take one gun to a gunfight it would have to be the G17. I know it's going to work well and I know there's a good chance I'll make it home. Can't say the same for my comfort level and my accuracy with my old Sig. Nothing to do with the gun but rather the operator.

Hey Paul,

Oh I know you're a huge 1911 guy as am I but something about the Glock. I never thought I would be "that guy" but I can't lie. I'm Mclovin the Glocks. I probably should put one less round in it to make it easier but I can't help myself....gotta get that last round jammed in there! Aheh!

I too have a g17 and a g19 and love them both:)Its funny to hear that you had some ftf with yours.I have not encountered any ftf or fte with mine. Those mags are a ##### to load but i know what you mean by wanting to get them all in.

I traded my G19 (prohib) to another CGNer for a Sig 225 about two months ago. I love the Sig but I missed the Glock so much I bought another. I know, I know...I have a problem.

I bet I know where that Sig came from! :DI just couldn't get used to the long and stiff trigger pull.
The G19 has the same pull every time and mine must have been lightened because I find it perfect.

I have both G17 and G19 too, and planning to get a second G17 and G22.
G17 was not my first gun, but after I got it, I fell in love with it! Reliable, super easy recoil control for double tapping, easy to clean, maintain, cheap, tons of OEM and aftermarket parts and upgrades, accurate (not competition level, but surely great as a duty gun), durable, neat design.... too many to list!

why do the glock 19's on Questar have extended barrels on them? is a regular glock 19 prohibited? I thought glock 17's and 19's had the same barrel length anyways just that the 19's were more compact.

The G19 is the best pistol (IMHO) in the Glock line up, seconded by the G34. Dorm, I haven't shot the 19 yet...

:agree: for some reason, the Glock 19, Sig P228, and Colt Commander all seem to me to be better pistols than the "full size" equivalent. (The Beretta 92 FM was better too)

haha well my question really wasn't answered,,why do the glock 19's on Questar have extended barrels on them? is a regular glock 19 without extended barrel prohibited?

Go Longer

I have a G17 but have not desire to go to a shorter frame. Anyway, to make it legal you have to have the G17 barrel in it. I would rather switch out the factory barrel with a Lone Wolf one and fire lead.
Rather than go down in size, I went the other way. I have a Lone Wolf G34 slide and barrel for my G17. Longer is definately better.
