I thought I wanted a G19, but honestly I prefer the G17 grip size. I wondering what the real reason is for them doing this, I certainly don't think it's as stated.
Have you considered modifying the frame? A slight undercut on the trigger guard with a dremel can work wonders. And you'll have an all together smaller package with the basically the same ballistics and reliability.
I would choose the g19 over the 17 primarily because I'm interested in a Roland Special, and a threaded barrel on the 17 is obnoxious.
Bad news for the guys on the EE selling used gen 4 19's for 1200$; good news for everyone else.
Laser engraved = boo.
Roll Stamped = Yes!
I never bothered with the G19, simply because the premium charged for it with an aftermarket 106mm + bbl was a major turn off. I was never a fan of the threaded bbls, but the shorter 106mm non-threaded don't look near as goofy. With the latter bbl and no crazy mark-up, I can see myself adding another Glock to the collection.

Does it please you?
Just so I understand this. Aside from the fact some prefer Glock over S&W what is the attraction of the Glock 19 with a barrel length of 106MM and a M&P FS with a 108MM barrel?

One is going to cost almost $800 vs $500. One will need new sights and a trigger job and look silly with a the barrel extension, the other a trigger job.
Seems like $150/mm is about where it is at.

Saw that pre-order. Good price too, but I'd think people are going to want to see some pictures before they throw down their cash.
