Glock 19 in Canada?

I personally think $1100 is a bit too much for a Glock 19, but for others it may be dream come true.

Exactly. Glocks are nice and all, but for anyone who has owned and used one, you'll know they aren't very complicated pieces of technology.

I think some people are ignoring the fact that Questar is a business. To have firearms imported and then re-barrelled and then re-registered takes alot of time and effort. Time and effort that should result in profit. At $1099.00 for a pistol that most of us (without 12(6)) could not buy without Questar, is a small price to pay.

further to what has been said above. They have to buy the 19's New In the Box. then have a gunsmith yank out the factory barrel and install a new Barsto and fit it. The factory barrel is for all intents and purposes is worthless, so you can't subtract that from the end price. Also they aren't buying these things in bulk, so it's not like they are going to get a price break on volume purchases. the price to me sounds more than reasonable.

I couldn't believe how "reasonable" the prices for these "restricted shorty's" were when I saw them on Questars site...a hell of a deal if you want one.

♂ + ♀ = ☺, I have a better idea! Buy a Glock 23 and then order a 9mm, 357 Sig, and 40 S&W barrels. You can then fire all three calibres from the same pistol. I had to buy 9mm magazines to get the 9mm round to function 100%. Regards, Richard :D

About 6 years ago I bought a Canadian registered Glock 26 and ordered up a 4 1/2" Fed Ord SS ported barrel for it from Brownells [ $ 90 US ]. I fitted the longer barrel to the Glock, then attempted to get it re-registered with the longer barrel. It only took about 6 months before they decided it WAS doable, but they demanded I surrender my original short G26 barrel as part of the deal.

I really liked the way that G26 balanced and shot with the ported longer barrel, but eventually arthritis forced me to give it up and go back to the full sized grip of the G 17.

I still have a spare extra length "legal" SS Oly barrel that will fit either the G26 or the G 19 [ but NOT the G 17 ], and perhaps one of these days I'll get a G 19 to put it in. Until then, my G 17 C is doing just fine.
