Does the Glock 19 have a lower bore axis than the Glock 17? I can never seem to shoot consistently with guns that have a higher bore axis.

No they are both the same. FYI the bottom of the grip of the 19 doesn't have the same arched as the full size 17, so it will have different feel in your hand.

For what it's worth, I shoot my G19 better than I ever did my G17....
It just 'fits' better, and the Barsto barrel can't hurt!

Is the barsto barrel of a higher quality than the factory glock barrel?

You bet :)

Much tighter tolerances and fit... BarSto has a reputation for making some of the most accurate handgun barrels around. Their Match Target barrels are superb... their "Semi-Drop-In" are the ones we install in the Compact and Subcompact Glocks... they are quite good and usually quite a bit more accurate than the factory Glock barrel.

Having said that... I have seen some factory Glocks that could shoot very very well... but those were not the norm (in my opinion). Like any standard factory product there are tolerances and each barrel, slide, frame, etc. will be within those tolerances... some assemblies will have more "slop" than others... too loose and your accuracy goes to crap.

Of course you give up stuff too. The BarSto is tight... even the chambers... it's designed for factory ammo... reloads will often have a problem chambering... the chambers are not as forgiving as a factory Glock barrel. That's one of the trade-offs.

Thanks for the info Mark. I've been wanting to pick up a Glock 19 for quite some time. I think I just might do it now. Are mags for the 19 quite expensive?

+1 on what Mark said about the tight chamber. My reloads which has been 100% reliable and very accurate in all my other 9mms including my G17 are unusable in my G19 w/ BarSto.

For the G19 with barsto, load the rounds really short, and use a Lee sizing die. They go down the farthest.

If you can, get roll sized brass from Wolf.

It'll run, then.

the barsto chamber is designed so tat short (factory) ammo has the bullet touching the lands. This is NFG for reloads, generally.

Same price as the other models... $30.00 each
