One bit of politics for you to consider:
prohibited firearm = confiscation
prohibited firearm with grandfathered status = confiscation in slow motion
12.X does little to nothing for anyone in the short term, and absolutely nothing for anyone
in one generation. Grandfathering is really the most insidious and effective form of confiscation, as it convinces the last generation of owners that their firearms have not actually been confiscated. But they have been, the government has just allowed you to hold on to them a little while longer... to placate you. Keeps the angry voices (and votes) down for now.
Pictures of a restricted GLOCK 19 with IGB barrel. I think they look fabulous. People try and buy this green gun from me all the time (including one of the range officers at my home range... you know who you are!). I look forward to the day when the barrel length requirements for pistols are removed in this country, but we definitely won't get their by cherishing grandfathered status. That's like holding on tight to your grandfather... when he is already in the grave!
