Glock 19 or Sig 229

Which one to buy?

So i want to buy a semi-compact pistol and its between these two. The sig is what i'm leaning towards as it is a gorgeous pistol and not that much more expensive. But the G19 is pretty sweet too cause its so light and seems a little smaller in general than the sig. Any thoughts or opinions?

I've owned a Sig 220 in 9mm in the past and i loved everything about it, the trigger, the grip and decocker, everything but i've never owned a glock before but i do like shooting them.

G19 is better bet, good luck finding a Sig 229 in Canada. Your best bet would be a Sig 228 (12.6 Prohib)

G19 are available new with 106mm bbl if you dont have 12.6

Both are great.
 
Hard to fine P229 in 9mm. There are a few shops with P229 40SW left. The Sig is a great gun. So is the G19.

Have you tried either?? That would be the deciding factor. Try and get your hands on one, if you could shoot them both even better.

If not, then do as much home work as you can and enjoy your purchase.

Either gun is certainly proven its worth.

Now, if we could own them without the "extra" barrel and 10 round mags that would be even better!
 
I have both guns .The G19 is much lighter and compact .The P229 is very accurate but a bit on the heavy side .My I like my G19 better than the P229 just for the weight factor.

I absolutley love my p229 in .40 (and .357 sig). It is very heavy though. Many people consider the g19 to be the best glock there is. I don't think you could go wrong with either.

Have both of them, and will keep them, but the G19 gets the nod...
Lighter, faster followup shots, etc...
For CCW, it would be the perfect unit.
 
If you do go P229, go .40S&W since that it was it was designed for :)

Get both.

Honestly though, try and shoot both and then make an informed decision rather than listening to what we have to say. This is your gun, so make sure you like it and can comfortable with it.
 
I'm leaning towards the 229 in .40 but i do have a soft spot for the g19. Like i said i've owned a sig and i totally loved the s/a trigger. The G19 is pretty ###y tho,i like the look of the extended barrel on it, especially the stainless one!
 
if this was posted on a US forum, some people would say get a Glock because SIG costs twice as much...But when you have to pay for the Glock almost the same price IMO it's no contest - get the SIG!

if you want a plastic gun I'd say take a look at M&P, it's not that much larger than G19 (accoring to side by side pic I've seen)
