Tenifer is not a finish. It's a metal treatment. It is a clear, metal impregnation process that hardens the steel. Byproduct of the hot bath immersion is cyanide. You can wear out the finish and it's still going to be there. Glock finish changed over the years many times. Actually the light grey finish is much grippier than the previous - teflon like. I much prefer the current one over the old, slippery and shiny one. Now, none of the current USA produced Glocks has Tenifer. This process was banned a while ago. Glock recently changed to a very similar, but lawful process...and I believe it's called Melonite.
