Glock 20 or 40?

I have owned several 20s and currently have an MOS 40 as well. If the larger size is no detriment to you I'd definitely pick up the 40. Something about the way it recoils... It shoots very well, one of my favorites.

20 is good. 40 is EXCEPTIONAL Have both, and prefer the 40. It's just more gun. I can't quantify it any better, but less muzzle flip, better sight radius, and it makes the 10mmAuto feel like a +p 9mm. Even with some *ahem* warm loadings.

Highly recommended.

The only downside is there is not a huge amount of bling avail for the 40 and it commands a premium over the 20.

the G40 was my first trip down the 10mm road and i love it.
its such a soft shooting pistol.
it really makes the 10mm feel like a 9mm because of the added mass and length.

add on's are hard to come buy for it like mentioned above.
pretty much everything i did to mine i had to have brought in from the US as no one up here really stocks anything for the 10mm Glocks.

magwells, baseplates, barrels, comps ect ect

Short answer, no. It's like buying a truck, first you need the truck, well then you want to protect it so you get a box liner and a tonne couver, then a week later you think a set of rims would set it off, so the wheels you like will not fit so now you need a lift kit. So, ya it's a slippery slope.

The large frame Glock was designed from the ground up for 10mm. That is sadly not something the majority of other 10mms can say. I have beaten the hell out of these guns and only ever had a broken trigger pin after tens and tens of thousands of rounds. The gun still ran 100%, only noticed it when cleaning. Change your recoil spring as needed and just shoot the thing.

Aftermarket barrels and springs are for guys trying to squeeze every last fps out of their unsafe loads. Ironically enough I found that springs do nothing at all beside make it harder to charge the gun and also slam the slide forward much harder. Aftermarket barrels can help with smilies if you shoot lighter bullets. Otherwise useless, I have done well over a thousand rounds of testing regarding that. Bullets from 135-220 grain, a half dozen powders and many, many loads. It drives me nuts when guys say you "need" to switch parts out on the 20/40.
