I am seriously considering picking up a Glock 20sf and I just wanted to hear from owners/users to see if it is worth the hassle of finding brass. (I also posted in the reloading forum to assess the availability of brass).

I love shooting 10mm and am getting another Glock. May end up going with a 21sf if the 10mm outlook is too bleak.

Thanks.

I thank the G20 is a great gun. Uncle Ted carrys one. So long as there is a good supply of ammo or components then you are good to go!

the g20 is a great gun for casual plinking, but at $650 per 1k of loaded ammo it is kindof expensive to shoot, since your going to be reloading that is not so much of a big deal, except for lost brass.

I've got a G20C and a G29. I've got .40cal conversion barrels for both. That way I can shoot the cheaper .40 in IPSC matches etc, and shoot the 10mm with friends. The 10mm always brings big grins.

Factory ammo is getting hard to find. Up til a few months ago, there was plenty in stock at around the price of 45 auto. I don't know what happened, it just dried up. I bought a few boxes with the intention of reloading the brass. Looks like that's the only way to go.

I've owned three 10mm autos. They've always been underrated. As far as I'm concerned, they're the ultimate service sidearm. I bought my first(Colt) about 20 years ago. I experimented with reloads, and got some very good accuracy. I carried that one in the bush for a couple of years, with a permit, of course. I think Kimber and Dan Wesson dropped their 10mm models, but Colt brought theirs back.

My Glock 20 has as much character as any other Glock. I much prefer shooting my old Delta Elite. I bought the Glock with the intention of getting another bush carry permit. For that purpose, it would be ideal. For shooting holes in paper, a Glock is a Glock. Might as well go for the 9 mm.

My Vote: 21SF

I have a .45acp Glock 21SF and a .45acp 30SF and I plan to get 10mm barrels for both. This is the best of both worlds if you want to shoot 10mm. Can you do the reverse with a 20SF/29SF? I thought about the .45 Super but it is a CRAZY MAN's round. The G23 is also nice if you can find one, it allows you to go to 9mm, 40mm and .357 should you so desire.

I have a G20 & a G29 with 40S&W conversion barrels for both.

I practice mostly with my far cheaper top 40S&W loads which are equal to factory 10mm loads and save the more expensive 10mm brass/ammo for later... :D
