Hey, I have a Glock 17 love it. 3000 + rounds not one failure. Like the feel of a 1911 45 auto. How does the Glock 21 compare? Xray

I used to own and shoot 1911 style .45's exclusively. I have since gotten rid of them and own some glocks. The 21 grip is of course quite a bit fatter and feels a lot different. The grip angle is also different from a 1911. I have pretty big hands and really like my 21 and 20.

Do you know your hand size?

I am Medium - I love the G17's and 1911 style pistols. However, the G21 feels fat and weird (I can shoot it, but it just doesn't feel 100%).

It is noticeably larger than the G17 you love so much :)

I love my G21 but I do have large hands (size 12). I also love having a 10mm KKM barrel and 10mm mags to use with my G21. Regards, Richard :D

I have always been a die-hard for the Colt 1911 until I bought a G21. My G21 is by far my favourite pistol because it fits my hand like a glove and I shoot it well.

The G21 has a much larger grip and the slide sits lower into the web of my hand. I feel less recoil and see less muzzle flip with the G21 then with my Colt 1911.

You need to look at the .45GAP in a G37. Its a great gun and ammo combo. I'm finding that most .45GAP ammo is running a tad hotter than equal weight .45ACP.

I too was looking at a G21 as my primary big bore, but I got a G37 instead. I have large hands but still didn't like the way the G21 felt. I love having my G37, same grip as my 17 and 22. Its fast becoming one of my favorite cartridge/gun combo's I own. Check it out yourself, you might suprise yourself.

Well I don't know my hand size. Held a G21 2 gen today seemed fine could hit the mag release without changing my grip. Thanks for the advice I will check out the GAP. But that would mean all new brass as well, the dies would still be the same I'm guessing. Would be nice to shoot both first! :D :) I do love that G17! 3000 + rounds not one failure. If the G21 works that well my Christmas wish list is up.

Are you joking? (did you notice what my nickname was?)

I love the G37 - I don't reload though so ammo was getting me in cost. ;)

I shoot a G21 and love it .
comparing it to a 1911 is a stretch , they are so different .
comparing it to your G17 is easier .
I don't like the G17 a whole bunch . 9mm's snap - 45's push .
the grip is almost the same to me .
The thing I like the most is the holes really show up ,easy to spot .
I have not handled a 45 gap , personally I think it is an answer to a problem that did not exist , but it maybe what you are looking for .
I'll keep my G21 , it works great for me .
