Glock 21 problems/ advice shooting low

Hello,

This is my first time posting on gun nutz and I need some advice. About 6 months back I bought a used Glock 21 SF w/ threaded barrel that looked almost brand new. The previous owner put very few rounds though it and it had/has no modifications done to it however I would like to change that.
My first problem is the gun shoots about 6-8" low at 12 meters no matter the shooter which from my reading is alarmingly low. The problem is definitely the gun. I want to blame the surpressor sights however I don't want to spend $100-150 on new sights and it not fix it.
The second problem I have is if the sights don't correct the problem and I need to raise the he rear sight, do aftermarket manufactors make taller back sights or do I have to go back to Glock sights?
Lastly, this one isn't a problem. I would like to have the threaded barrel machined off my Glock by a gunsmith. Anyone done this? Did it turn out good? Effect accuracy?

I reload all my ammunition. It shoots low with everything I try. I've tried fmj 200gr & 230gr with more powders then I can mention haha. I always stuck to the low/mid range with powder loads. I chronographed the 230 gr with 4.4gr of Titgroup producting 670fps and 875 fps with 5.7gr of Unique.

If it is shooting consistently low, a lower front sight is needed. This will raise the point of impact. Glock sights can be readily changed, although you need the little wrench.
If you are going to get rid of the threads, do that before you get the pistol zeroed.

Lowering the front sight works the same as raising the rear and requires the same amount of change in terms of height removed/added regardless of which end you change. At 12m a Glock should be hitting dead on top of the front sight blade, is this where you are measuring your 6-8" low from? What hold are you using for your sighting?

Mmattockx....beat me too it....sight picture will help? And yes you can buy windage and height adjustable sights for Glock...seems pretty low though....interesting.
 
That's measuring from my point of aim. The sight picture was lined up properly on all of the shots. The grouping was really good just very low.
 
Most of the new pistols shoot too low for me. 6" low is common.

My solution has been to order a lower Dawson Precision fibre optic front sight.

They offer the sights in a wide range of heights and widths. I order a narrower sight, to give me more white on each side of the sight.

Does your pistol have the special; high sights, to clear a suppressor? If so, the cheap adjustable Glock rear sight won't work.

The cheap solution is to file down the existing front sight. Take a file to the range and keep filing it down until you get the POI you want. Then, if you don't like the sight, order a new one of the same height.

I like that website, thanks. I have the tall surpressor sights and I want to get rid of them all together, seeing as how you can't use a surpressor in Canada anyway.
 
I have no experience with an adjustable Glock rear sight.
I do like the Dawson adjustable rear sight. Have a look at the options on the Dawson website.
