Glock 21sf VS Sig 220R

I've shot both and owned a SIG P220 for a while (only own a Glock 17 now).

The SIG is an easier gun to shoot well. It's forgiving for people with novice shooting technique. That said, it's never going to be as robust or durable as the Glock 21 (the P220 is not a P226! Anyone thinking otherwise is kidding themselves). Get a P220 if you're only plinking at the range, get the Glock 21 if you're using it for wilderness ATC or shooting in any competition that doesn't require using match sights.

Durability, reliability, warrenty work ( police ornance). After market parts everwhere. Its just a better gun. But i am biased. Plus even in Canada Glocks carry two more rounds. Pretty sure 220 mags are 8 rounders.

Like I said, I have owned both guns, and currently own two Sig Sauers and two Glocks, so I don't have a dog in the fight. I concede that the Glock's support in Canada and parts availability is more readily available, but so are Honda parts compared to Mercedes parts. My first gun was a P220 in 9mm and it was just stupidly reliable. FWIW, you can get 10 round P220 magazines, and it holds less because it's single-stack ala 1911. I definitely wouldn't say my 21SF is 10x the gun that my Colt Series 70 Government is. :)

I know the P220 in .45 ACP is less regarded than the P226 in 9mm, but to be fair the Glock 21 is considered by one prominent gun writer as Glock's worst gun and some even say the only good Glocks are 9mms. I find that to be complete BS, but that's the viewpoint out there .

Yabut for the price of a 220, why not get a decent 1911?

That's a good point, lots of nice 1911s for a grand, but I don't think I'd say one is objectively better than another, just two different gun designs.
